Site Preparation and Excavation
This photo shows the simultaneous clearing of the rubble from the first blast, with the preparations for the second
blast. Last week's blast was in the center of the pedestal excavation and this is where the mechanical excavator is
removing the broken rocks. The periphery of the excavation will be the focus of the second blast so it is now be drilled
for holes in which the explosives will be placed.
