Steel Erection
The azimuth track and pintle bearing have now been aligned, and grouting has begun. A new pourable grout is being used between the concrete and the track, and between the concrete and the pintle bearing. This new grout is quicker to install than the packed grout used on the previous antennas, but has superior mechanical qualities. Once the grouting is completed, the alidade construction will begin with the installation of the azimuth truck assemblies.
