Facilities Construction
Activity this week is clearly focused on meeting the key schedule milestone of the beneficial occupancy date (or BOD).
The BOD is when the contractor is done with the pedestal enough to allow JPL to start working on installing the electronics.
In order to meet the BOD, all of the supporting facilities in the pedestal, like heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC),
lighting, and fire protection, must be completed.
