A ceremony was held on October 6, 2003 to mark the completion of new DSS-55 34-meter antenna at the Madrid Deep Space Communication Complex. JPL Director Charles Elachi, and other guests from JPL, MDSCC, and INTA participated in the ceremony.

The antenna and its associated electronics will continue to undergo calibrations and demonstration tracks over the next few weeks. Routine operations on DSS-55 will begin on November 1, 2003, right on schedule!
